Gunn noted that he was a fan of Cena’s acting. Their personal meeting finally convinced the director. “We met, talked and instantly became friends,” Gunn recalls. “Since then, I’ve worked with him more than any other actor. He’s an amazing guy, an amazing actor.” Today, Cena is firmly associated with the character, who will continue his journey in the updated DC Universe (DCU) under the direction of James Gunn himself.
